By far the best pizza we have had in Florida. We got the pepperoni with extra cheese which was a thin crust delight. Also go the veggie which although tasty, was a bit soggy due to veggies. Suggest sticking to one it two veggie toppings.

The worst. Ordered take-out, on a Tuesday, from our condo 100 yards away (I can see the restaurant from here) and it took them 2 1/2 hours to deliver it. Mind you, I had to call them twice during the process. Then, when the delivery boy showed up, our pizza was cold - did you get lost on the one minute commute? So we walked the pizza back to the restaurant and asked for a new one. They were glad to cook us a new pizza so we brought pizza #2 back to the condo. However, when we went to eat it, the cheese slid right off the pizza, leaving me with a pile of cheese on my plate and the crust in my hand. I took the box of "pizza" and launched it off the balcony. Couldn't make this up if I tried. I will be not recommending Touch Of SHITaly to anyone.

Real Italian - "Sal", that is. The owner here has never heard of online reviews, but he cares about his customers, his employees and his food. My family has been greeted warmly by the owner every time we've returned to NSB, not because we were remembered after a year or more away, but because he always cares. The food is no more perfect than anywhere else, but it's reliably good and worth the bill. Highlights: several good beers on tap, wine too, garlic knots in a lake of garlic butter, good pizza crust, kind staff. Risk it.

I've been here several times nothing horrible here just average Italian fare. I will say the "garlic knots" are awesome they helped get us through the long wait for our dinners the server told us the kitchen was slow when we ordered. I really don't want to hear that it's not my problem this is not a place I want to wait an hour to get my food. From the reviews I've read the food is hit or miss as is the service and I agree. I guess our dinner wasn't that bad or it tasted better than it really was because of the long wait. I was a little disappointed our last visit this is not a place I would go out of my way to visit, I guess with all the condos they have enough turnover in customers they can get away with mediocre.

I've been coming to new smyrna for several years now and this place has became a regular destination. Every year we stop in for a pizza, and they never disappoint.

I think the people who work here are what makes this little Italian place special!!! Brought my dog and baby here with friends! My baby wanted my dog who was tied up outside and was crying. A fabulous older Italian guy, (possibly the owner) brought bread and coaxed my baby back to the table!! He loved my baby and just made us feel very special! They were so helpful and attentive!! Small inside, decor nothing special -but the food. Pizza was good, got supreme and cheese pizza, regular rolls and garlic knots. I can't say enough about the garlic knots!!! When we make pasta we will order them take out!!! They are incredible!! The bread is fresh and chewy etc. can tell huge difference from store bought!!! Altogether great experience!

Tastey but sloppy pizza. Actually, very unacceptable. I ordered from this spot based on the reviews. Ordered the 16" special and the 10" cheese. The cheese was good. The special was tasty but in serious need of a makeover. The special came in sooooo mushy in the middle and watery. It definitely was special. I called to complain and was told "That's how we make it unless you tell us you want it extra crispy". What??!! Totally unacceptable answer. That's not even an answer. It's a cop out. They continued to say that "when you put toppings on the pizza it gets soggy". Lmao!!!! What??!! So I had to go there as much as I hate too but I had to tell her, "look I come from NY and order veggies on my pizza plenty of times and my pizza doesn't come out soggy and wet." I was then told that they "have to cater to all their customers and many like the soggy pizza". At this point I'm annoyed and say, "how about I bring you this pizza and watch all of y'all eat it? I want to see that and see if y'all like the soggy pizza." Final response was, "we will send you another one but extra crispy and make it right away." Fine. I decided to say they can have the other one back and she agreed so that her manager can see it. So my basic question is...WHY did I have to go back and forth about my pizza to acknowledge a mistake that clearly is a chronic issue??? Anyway, we got the replacement pizza and got the same thing all over again. Surprised? Not really. Ordering from here again??? Highly unlikely. I won't lie: the pizza is tasty but it is Sloppy, mushy, messy, and watery in the middle. I picked up my slice and ALL the toppings fell off. I was left with the crust. Great times.

this is Morris from the Bronx.. Strange to be in a place like this but I am and it was suggested that we try Touch of Italy. It was really excellent. their Pizza was crisp w fresh mushrooms. I had their pasta special. It was too rich for me but then again I should expect that with an alfredo sauce. My buddy had their grouper and he said it was excellent. Their salads were also very good and crisp. We had expresso and capaccino too. Priced well. We had recently been in Sicily and Sal the owner was Siciliano. We talked about that special Island figs, Olives and Wine. Complete dinner for 4 with half a carafe of red $80.00 plus tip. Considering that it is Florida and not NYC, I give it 4 stars .

Went here for the first time last night. What a wonderful restaurant. The owner greets everyone at the door. Food reasonably priced. Wonderful... Had the eggplant florentine, with salad, bread and side of pasta. Had to get a doggy bag to bring 1/2 of it home. Staff friendly and attentive. Will be back.

We ordered 2 pizzas, one cheese for the kids and a vegetable pie for the adults. Pies were a good size for Larges. A little wet in the middle, but otherwise tasted great. We also ordered a garden salad, which was simply lettuce and 2 slices of tomato and 2 slices of cucumber and some croutons. Not impressed with salad!

Good Italian and nice ambience with good lounge lizard music. Food was good. Would have liked a larger selection of beer.

I get a lot of takeout from here. Pizza is excellent. Antipasto and Caesar Salad are delicious. Service is always fast and friendly. Had an actual sit down dinner with my daughter. We were not disappointed the bread was wonderful and the pasta portions were huge. Plenty for lunch the next day.

the food was authentic Italian. Sal has been there for 24 years. I had the seafood pescatore, an the portions were ample. Mussels, shrimp, calamari, and clams were delicious. My wife and I shared an Antipast Salad which is made with small cut leaves of Romaine. Anchovies topped it off to perfection. we are only here a week but we will be back there another time or two. Enjoyed a nice dinner. My husband and son both had seafood pasta dishes. I had the chicken parm. All was very good. Great spot for a basic Italian meal.

Picked up a take out pizza the other night. The crust was a bit soggy, but the toppings were generous and on the whole, the pizza was delicious.

We had take out pizza from here. It was just OK. On the pro side, it had lots of fresh ingredients, the sauce was not too heavy, and it was not overcooked. On the negative, the crust had very little taste. The price seemed about right for what we got. Over all it was very average.

Somewhat overpriced. Tortellini alfredo was quite good and generously portioned for $15.95. The Godchild combo was ridiculously small for $12.95. One ravioli, one stuffed shell and one manicotti with some marinara? Come on Sal. That's not cool. I did not try the pizza but it did look good.

We live in NSB first time to go to Touch Of Italy. Should have gone sooner! Wife had pepperoni pizza slice 1/4 of large pizza and it was super big and tasty. Great price, nice, nice, nice! I had chicken Parmesan and what a great big meal! No room to eat the hot rolls that were served. Food is fresh and perfectly seasoned. Not overly spicy at all. Just the way I like it. The chicken was breaded and fried nicely and baked with tons of cheese and the spaghetti was tender and plentiful. Sweet tea was great. We ate a late lunch as usual and were seated and served quickly and pleasantly. Do yourself a favor and head on over there. We are returning soon!

I've really wrestled with the rating in this one! We've come to NSB for the past few years and have enjoyed Touch of Italy regularly. So this year when we arrived, the call we made for take-out seemed easy. Um, nope. Worst. Pizza. Ever. No kidding, worse than any frozen fundraiser pizza I've ever suffered through. What can I say positive? The Italian salad dressing was great. The pizza was virtually inedible. I would have guessed that they had s takeout order from hours (maybe days) earlier that hadn't been picked up. The crust was dry. And hard. And flavorless, with not enough sauce or cheese to help redeem it. Honestly, previous visits have been 4+ worthy, but this was less than 1. Settling in a 3 for the many good times, but the ill effect of regency. Play it safe, eat in!

Called two times in a weekend. First time was for pizza. Delivery was quick and friendly. The pizza was hot and quite good. Second night was for a complete dinner. I'm not a food critic, but I thought it was quite good. Again, delivery was quick and the food was hot. I'll be using them again.

I ordered a large cheese pizza and two large salads one chef and a Caesar. The Pizza had delectable Crust just the right amount of sauce with robust herbs, and Perfect amount of Yummy Cheese. Caesar Salad is Crispy Romaine with shredded Parmesan cheese croutons and perfect amount of Caesar dressing. The tossed salad was the same crisp lettuce. Over all Sals Touch of Italy is just that like a trip to a real life Italian restaurant in Italy , except you don't have to leave New Smyrna Beach. Delectable Yummy, best Italian Restaurant in NSB FL you simply most also try the Deserts I had the chocolate cake it was delicious and the cheese cake was very good too. You may have to wait on your food but it's worth the wait in my opinion . I would recommend my friends try it out it's very good. Sals Place has Awesome Italian food. None of that fake crust. It's simply a great place .

I hope high hopes for this place but was very disappointed. I have several complaints: First the woman who took my order over the phone got my order wrong. She must not have been paying attention because I only ordered two items and she didn't even hear the first. My lasagna and chicken cattitore order was for pick-up and before I paid, I added a tiramisu to the order. I discovered once I got home that it was not in the bag. When I called to ask why my order was missing, the woman said I was not charged for a tiramasu because she did not know that I ordered one. Not sure why it is so hard to put orders in. However, these order issues are minor. My big problems with the restaurant have to do with food quality. My wife literally spit out her first bite of lasagna. Apparantly, the ricotta cheese was spoiled. I went back to the restaurant the next day to tell them about this, and the manager looked at me like I was crazy. I seemed more likely that my wife (and daughter's) tastebuds were incorrect than for his restaurant to have a bad batch of cheese. In an effort to be nice, I accepted "credit" over a refund. I ate some of my left over chicken cattitore the next day (which was actually pretty good), but found myself with a metal staple in my mouth. They stape the brown bags that the food is put in, but I'm not sure how it made it in there. Luckily I did not swallow it. I didn't bother reporting this back to the restaurant, and I will not be using the credit that I have there. Needless to say, I will not be returning here and I do not recommend this place (unless you like rotten cheese, metal stapes, and poor management).

italian food served in a bit of a dumpy restaurant, but always leave happy and with a full belly!!!! their pizzas are great, pasta dishes are typical italian fare, but delicious, especially the sauce. service is unpolished but friendly all of this topped off with a warm, over opinionated, politaclly driven owner that gives this place charm. it's nothing fancy, but the food IS good......never been disappointed. a great little neighborhood joint.

We eat here every time we visit NSB. The service is always friendly and so far we haven't had to wait long for our food like some of the other reviewers. Tonight we had the soup which was excellent, and pizza. The pizza is really good with a tasty crust and good sauce. The chicken Caesar salad was so so though because the lettuce wasn't fresh. The pizza is always reliable here

We had just flown in from Chicago and were looking for something quick and easy for dinner, what better option then Pizza. We did a quick check of Yelp to see what was good in the area and found Touch of Italy and figured we would give it a try. Ordered up two large cheese and sausage, nothing fancy here, and were told 30 min for pickup. The place is easy enough to find, it was clean, and more importantly busy which is always a good sign. Inside it looked like a throw back to the 1980's and reminded me of some local pizza places I grew up with back in Chicago, so I had high hopes. Everyone was friendly, were joking around, and one of the pizza makers was even tossing pizza dough into the air. The pizza is served up pie-cut, which we like and had an interesting twist, the sausage was sliced just like the pepperoni, something I've never seen. Overall the pizza was decent, nothing to write home about but good. It was a bit greasy, but not overlay so. So if your looking for something quick, and pizza is on your mind give this place a try.

I have lived down the street from this place for 10 years. My family goes here all the time not just because its good, but its got a family vibe you can't replace. The only reason I didn't give them five stars was the price was just a smidgen higher than I would like. Nothing outrageous. But the flavors are great and everything is always well cooked. Definitely check it out.

Great pizza, not a better crust anywhere around, and great pasta. Zach does a great job in the kitchen. We've been eating here for 20 years and it's always Italian perfection!

As it is known to the race crowd "Sal's" is the best Italian place on NSB.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
